Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
ApplyStack is a free, open-source app for tracking job applications. Each copy of it is run by one person (the "admin") who shares it with friends. This page explains what this site stores and why.
What we collect
- Your Google account name and email address, when you sign in with Google. We use them only to create your account and show you who you are signed in as. We don't ask Google for anything else.
- What you put in the app: jobs, job descriptions, notes, statuses, resumes, profile details and AI chat history.
- An AI provider API key, if you add one on the Profile tab. It is stored so the app can make AI requests for you, and is never sent back to your browser.
- A login cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
How it is used and shared
- Your data is used only to run the app for you. Other users can't see it.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with anyone for marketing.
- When you use an AI feature, the text it needs (for example a job description and your resume) is sent to the AI provider you chose, using your own key. That provider's privacy policy applies to it.
- The app is hosted on Vercel and its database is on Turso, which store the data on our behalf.
- The admin owns the database, so they can technically read everything stored in it, including saved AI keys.
Google user data
ApplyStack's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. If you turn on the optional Google Drive backup, the app can only see files it created itself, in an "ApplyStack Resumes" folder in your Drive (named "Job Tracker Resumes" if you connected Drive before the rename). You can disconnect it at any time from your Google account permissions.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays until you or the admin delete it. You can delete jobs and resumes yourself in the app. To have your whole account deleted, ask the admin (the person who shared this site with you), and they will remove it from the Users tab.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too. The app's source code is public on GitHub, so you can check exactly what it does with your data.
